How MCF determine the date of Eid?
MCF follows the AMJA method (global moon-sighting). Plans are in place to celebrate Eid whether it falls on April 9th or April 10th. If Eid is on April 9th, join us at Lembi Park in Folsom for Eid Prayer and celebration. If Eid is on April 10th, choose between a large Eid Prayer and festival at Cal Expo or a smaller prayer at MCF.
Why is there a Unity Eid event?
The growing Muslim population in Sacramento, combined with global challenges, highlights the need for unity. MCF, in partnership with COSVIO, CAIR, and other Islamic centers, aims to celebrate Eid as one strong community.
When is the Unity Eid event?
The Unity Eid event is on Wednesday, April 10th at Cal Expo, symbolizing the strength of the Sacramento Muslim community.
Will the Unity Eid event be prayers only?
No. It includes prayer, a full-day celebration, games, food vendors, a bazaar, community services, and more.
Are there accommodations for the elderly?
Yes. Shuttle and wheelchair services will be available at the Cal Expo Pavilions building.
